I am happy to be an American because of our respects: commitment, hard work, volunteerism, sacrifice, and our love of freedom.

A few years later, I used to be volunteer educating at an inner-city school in Buffalo. Once I asked the students question “What do you want to be when you grow up ?”, almost all the boys said they wanted to be Kobe Bryant, while all the girls told me that they were planning on becoming ballerinas or dolphin trainers.

      Uh huh.

That’s what I’m discussing, my friends.
      Americans may be big.
But you know what else is big ?
      Our hopes and dream.

-          - Soldier helps disabled Iraqi girl again

Approximately seven years ago, Col. Kevin Brown's soldiers helped to save the life of Noor al-Zahra Haider, an Iraqi girl born with spina bifida. In 2005, Brown encouraged the U.S. Military to fly Noor to the United States for significant surgery. After that she was returned to Iraq and Brown lost touch with her. He wondered over the years how Noor was faring, or if she was still alive. He was pleased  and motivated to help send donations to her home in Baghdad last month.
